Homecare Construction is keenly aware of the dangers our environment faces every day due to irresponsible timber trades. We therefore support eco-friendly practices by using timber sourced from sustainable forests. The harvesting of these timber species leaves a positive carbon footprint on the environment. We furthermore support responsible suppliers of imported hardwood species and we are constantly striving towards minimising any unnecessary waste.
We are creating innovative ways of transforming outside spaces, providing comfortable leisure areas, maximising the use of natural materials ensuring a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living spaces. By combining these natural materials such as timber in our decking, flooring, pergolas, balustrades and timber screens we are able to transform bland outside spaces into practical and stylish outdoor rooms. The versatility of timber provides endless possibilities when it comes to design. Timber is both beautiful and tough, ensuring that your deck, pergola or balustrade is not only lovely to look at but also durable. With the minimal amount of correct maintenance practices, there is no reason why our products shouldn’t last you a lifetime.
As one of the earliest materials from which man historically fashioned his dwellings, timber can still be at the heart of every home. Heavy structural timber frames are an incredibly flexible method of construction. They are generally manufactured off-site in workshop conditions, ensuring that site-times can be kept to a minimum. They can be simple, contemporary and minimal, or fully expressed complex works of internal and external structure, echoing our incredible historical carpentry heritage as well as being constructed in combination with modern contemporary materials and techniques. They can be enclosed using a wide variety of materials and techniques that will respond to the strictest brief. By looking through our portfolio you will discover the breadth of our experience in terms of the wide variation in the projects that we have designed and constructed.
CONSTRUCTION OF NEW TIMBER BUILDINGS
Constructing your new home is an exciting time for you and your family, as you literally have a blank canvas to create your ideal environment.
Superior Insulation and Ventilation. The lightweight nature of timber allows your house to change naturally and quickly with your environment. During the warmer months, the increased circulation provided by timber will cool down your home much faster than brick, concrete, or other construction materials. Also, the humidity levels seem to be less with timber homes as concrete and brick constructions have the tendency to sweat and feel overwhelmingly muggy. The construction of timber homes also allows for more room between materials which is then filled with insulation for colder months, creating superior warmth.
Durable and Long-Lasting. A timber frame home is ideal as the very frame is constructed in a manner that not only allows for weight to be distributed evenly, but the joints themselves connect in a solid way, which will help retain structural integrity for many years. When built properly, you can ensure that your home will last for many generations.
ALTERATIONS AND RENOVATIONS TO EXISTING BUILDINGS
The design and addition can be a difficult process, as there is already an existing building, therefore new alterations have to compliment the old ones. New additions have to be sympathetic, so there are a lot of aspects that we take into consideration.
For example: Matching the style and materials already used in the house or adding something that is different (but still, ideally, complementary).
MAINTENANCE TO ALL BUILDINGS
When buildings are neglected, defects can occur which may result in extensive and avoidable damage to the building fabric or equipment, therefore all homes require maintenance.
Timber buildings are long term investments and with a small amount of care and maintenance optimum performance and enjoyment is ensured.
